DKB, Zainab disqualified from BBA over fight

Big Brother StarGame contestants Ghanaian DKB and Sierra Leonean Zainab were disqualified yesterday after they fought, as drama unfolds among housemates in Upville house.

The brawl started after Zainab (26) opened the door while DKB was taking a shower. Incensed by the move, DKB confronted Zainab and warned her not to open the door while he took a shower.

Instead of saying sorry, Zainab told DKB to go to hell. “What the f***k is wrong with you . . . that’s your own problem,” she screamed.

DKB warned Zainab and that if she repeated the act he would slap her, to which Zainab became provocative and replied by saying: “Slap me now, slap me”.

When DKB walked away Zanaib followed and pushed him before she was slapped in the face and the brawl started. Zainab then slapped back and DKB retaliated by slapping her three times.

After what seemed like half an hour or so, Big Brother then announced that the two had been disqualified. Zainab, who thought she would only be punished, was shocked to hear that she had been disqualified from the game.

This is not the first time a housemate has been disqualified from Big Brother show. During the Big Brother All Stars version, Hanington was sent packing after he beat up South African Lerato. His disqualification followed a huge outcry from fans who piled pressure on Big Brother to act on violence.

Although Lerato was not evicted, she was punished for insulting Hanington. This time Big Brother acted swiftly and decided both DKB and Zainab, who was firm favourite of many viewers, should leave the house.

At this rate, will the Zimbabwean housemate and temperamental Roki keep his cool and is he going to learn anything from history? Only time will tell.

DKB one of the two Ghanaian housemates left in the big brother StarGame have been disqualified from StarGame for contravening the violence rule.

The Ghanaian shocked the world when he gave Zainab (The Sierra Leonean model) a hot slap on the face for peeping whiles he was in the bath.

DKB who is noted for his comedy completely lost his cool when Zainab opened the bathroom door whiles he (DKB) was in there.

DKB confronted Zainab to register his displeasure about her attitude but the two could not find a level ground which resulted in the exchange of words.

In the process, DKB who was already angered by Zainab’s attitude warned her not to repeat such actions or he would slap her.

Zainab who was defensive could not help with her usual use of swear words which infuriated the Ghanaian brother.

Was DKB supposed to react in such way?

DKB disqualified from Big Brother for slapping female housemate

Ghanaian housemate, Derick Kobina Bonney (DKB) in the Upville house in the on-going 91-day reality show has been disqualified for physically attacking Sierra Leonean female housemate, Zainab.

The confrontation ensued when DKB was taking a shower earlier in the day and Zainab apparently opened the door several times.

Frantic attempts to stop the Sierra Leonean proved futile. According to DKB, the sexy housemate failed to show remorse for her actions which got him "pissed off" and subsequently slapped her.

DKB was called to the dairy room after the attack while Zainab was asked to go into the glass house.

After carefully interrogating DKB and studying the rules, Big Brother declared to the housemates that violence/physical attacks in the reality show is frowned upon and will not be tolerated.

Per the rules, he said, any housemate who attacks a fellow housemate will be disqualified from the show.

After spelling out the rules, Big Brother declared, "DKB you have been disqualified from the game for contravening the game rules."

Zainab who according to Big Brother also contributed to the attack was also disqualified from the show.

DKB's exit is coming barely 24-hours after Mildred (Eazzy) was evicted from the show Sunday.

Ghana now has its hopes on Keitta who joined the Upville house Sunday.

DKB before exiting the house told Keitta, "I leave the battle to you, make the nation proud."

DKB could not resist the temptation when she (Zainab) dared him to slap her and like a typical hustle with the swiftness of Mohammed Ali and the body of Floyd Mayweather, DKB gave Zainab hot slap which sent the Sierra Leonean model struggling to maintain her balance.

But for the timely intervention of other housemates, DKB looked ready to give Zainab a fathers beating considering his manly features.

Big brother immediately after a chat with the two disqualified them from the competition.

DKB was one of the favorites to win the competition considering his votes and progress so far to this point.

DKB’s exit however makes Keitta the only Ghanaian left in the competition following the eviction of Mildred (Eazzy) Keitta girlfriend barely 48 hours ago.

DKB may have more problems following since some female rights activist are not pleased with his "gross disrespect for women" and will want more than just a disqualification for the young comedian according comments posted on the video.

He was disqualified on the basis of what organisers of the 91-day reality show, MNet and Endemol, described as violence that contravened the rules of the game. His action has received worldwide condemnation from many who saw it as demeaning, unethical and affront to the fight against violence against women. Nana Darkoa Sekyiamah, Communications Officer at the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF) and a women’s rights activist speaking in an interview with Myjoyonline.com was very blunt in condemning the action by the Ghanaian comedian. “I don’t watch Big Brother Africa (BBA) but I’ve heard all about the incident, and I have an opinion. You don’t need to watch BBA to know Violence Against Women is abhorrent,” she said. She noted that “Personally my take on the incident is that DKB’s slap of Zainab is making public an incident which is often hidden in the private domain and that is, [the] violence that women face. Violence against women is pervasive in our society, and this time everyone should take a firm stance against acts of violence.” She said it was unfortunate that “We have women dying every day because they are in violent relationships. We have women being raped; we have wars on the continent being fought on the bodies of women,” stressing that “Enough is enough. End violence against women.” The AWDF Communications Officer, however, does not believe that DKB, who was in the Upville house of the reality show, should be sued for the action quizzing “What would be the point of suing him? And who will be suing him? I don’t get the point of suing him. Maybe a lawyer would need to give me a perspective on that. Unless it’s the victim suing him for assault…” She instead, recommended that, the “first action against him should be really public contempt. He needs to realise that Ghanaians do not support his acts of violence. Family and friends should talk to him, and give him feedback on how abhorrent his actions were.” A national apology, Nana Darkoa indicated will not be too much to ask for, “but it must be heartfelt, and the truth.
